a background check requirement between private party sales, although no one believes it is enforceable.

Both of these measures were passed by Democrat majorty in the House in a Committe vote. With Dems in charge of both State House and Senate, pretty sure they will pass right trough and signed into law. The Mag limit was passed late this evening, sometime after 10PM RMT.

Going to be very confusing for gun owners when moving from one State to another and their magazines could exceed a limit in the State they are moving to, but were.ok in the State they moved from.

Colorado turning into another liberal state like California. Lots of handguns hold 17 rounds. Many lawful concealed citizens will get arrested because of different mag laws in every states.

Is it a grandfathered stipulation in it Rick? That if you got them already you can keep them?

Apparently you're either naive about the large pro-gun rallys in numerous states plus the large turnout by gun owners to testify against the Colorado mag ban and mandatory background checks, and the huge increase in NRA membership, or you're not being truthful.

Either way, it's just more of your anti-gun trolling.

No, he's just spewing more of his moronic liberal crud. He will find the exit door eventually the same way the super lib mrskeet410 did. I just hope they don't wait as long as they did with him.

The proprosed bill now in the Minnesota legislature calls for
no more than 7 or 10 round capacity. I suspect the 10 round
will pass. No Grandfather clause on any magazine's over the
legal limit. If caught with one, it is a felony!. That mean's
you can't own any firearm if convicted. My pantie's are in
    a knot over this.

What did you expect? You let all those damn CAs come in and crap all over your state.

The same thing is going to happen to the rest of the West too. Look at Nevada, Las Vegas is just LA with a strip of casinos. Idaho?? I saw a recent report where there are more people born in CA living in Idaho than were born in Idaho. How much time you give that state?

I believe they will be grandfathered.

Going to be fun for gun makers, guns sold in NY will have one mag size limit, MN another, CO another, and more to come.

Colorado has always been a more liberal than conservative state.

I spent some time in Colorado last fall, the scenery was beautiful and the long drive than was intentionaly planned from flying into Denver and driving to Page, AZ was great. We went down the west side of the state and across the bottom coming back and up the east side of the state. Stopped and shot SC in the middle lower part at a really nice Club with very frieldly people. With all that said the wife and I both feel like we did not leave anything there and likely won't return. It's too bad the general feeling that I felt around the Denver area gives me the attitude of not wanting to return.

Magpul has given notice that if this ban on mags over 15 rounds passes, it will move from Colorado.

There are several States who are trying to lure Magpul to move from Colorado to a more gun friendly State.

Presently they employ some 200 people and suppliers and contracters for Magpul employ 400 more.

The Colorado bill, as originally written, banned the manufacture of mags over 10 rounds and banned shipping them out of state. This would have forced Magpul to leave. Obviously the mag limit was changed from 10 to 15, but I have not found out about the manufacturing and shipping clause yet.

These stupid, unconstitunioal laws passed in this liberal controlled states will eventually start getting their citizens arrested and jailed! Only an ignorant anti gun liberal would think otherwise! This country is going to get more and more divided as liberals grab power and pass assine laws that rob people of their constitutional freedoms! It is going to get a lot uglier than it is now!

One question I haven't heard ask yet is will a magazine plug be allowed like one used in shotguns for waterfowl?

Most laws being written are grandfathering mags made and owned before the ban proposed, but future ones with smaller size will be stamped wth date made and serial number.

That is kind of stupid, because a magazine made after the ban date without a date and s/n would look like a pre-ban.

If I owned Magpul I would be gone from Colorado. Easy move with less taxes, South Dakota, Wyoming and other states would be glad to take them.

All the gun companies located in the eastern states, Illinois, Minnesota should do the same.

15 round mag capacity will get lots of law abiding citizens arrested as they go across state lines.

This is wrong and will not stop the criminals or the mentally ill from having them.

We do not have a gun or magazine problem we have a government at all levels that will not prosecute criminals to the full extent of the law.

I do not know specifically what the Colorado situation is, but BATF interpreted the 1994 ban as meaning the magazine must designed and built, or be permanently altered, to preclude loading more then 10 rounds into it. Thus, a mag plug by itself is not enough. Neither were rivets that could be drilled out.

I have several factory 5-round hunting mags made by cutting down longer mags. These have had a failure rate of 50%. Meaning half of them work and half jam. And they're expensive.

Magpul makes a 5-round plug kit for their 20 round mags. I bought some, and they are utterly reliable. Sadly, these 5-rounders would not stand up to BATF scrutiny because they are not permanently plugged. I was wondering if they could be permanently sealed with a plastic cement or if there is a place that could beam weld the floorplates on with a laser, and if that would satisfy BATF.
