Just an FYI, we're having a collegiate shooting event at Powder Creek Gun Club in Lenexa, KS this weekend.

We call it "Shootout at the Crossroads" since we're kind of at the crossroads of Interstates 29, 35, and 70.

We had our first one last year and got 84 entries. This year we have over 120 entries. Its going to be a fun time.

Last year we had kids from as far west as Wyoming, and as far east as Eastern Kentucky University.

We have entries from Kansas State (the host team) Purdue, Colorado State, Missouri, Nebraska-Omaha, Iowa State, Lindenwood, Missouri-Rolla, Missouri State, Oklahoma State, two young ladies who go to Kansas University who are trying to put together a trap club, plus my daughter who is still in high school but they're going to let her shoot because she's taking classes for college credit at the local JuCo.

They'll shoot 100 trap singles, 100 trap doubles, 100 sporting clays, and 100 skeet.

It was a great event last year. If you're in the KC area, come out to see these young folks shoot, buy a ticket for a 20 gauge o/u we're raffling off to raise funds for the K-State team, or volunteer to help us out.

    Tim,

I just wanted to let you know that Purdue will not be attending this weekend. We were originally planning on coming out, but after Missouri last weekend I gave some of our other shooters a fierce case of bronchitis and we are trying to recover. But, I hope your shoot goes well and everyone shoots good. Hope to see you in Iowa and San Antonio.

    Thanks,
    Jacob Stidham

    Jacob,

I was wondering what had happened. Disappointed to hear you won't be coming, but we plan to do this next year, and the year after that, etc., so put it on your calendar.

As it is, we have over 120 entries, which will test our facility and our coordination skills to run everyone through all 4 disciplines in 2 days.

Best of luck to you and your team.

    Tim
