What's the matter with hearing the truth? Still can't handle it huh big puppy? I just wonder what he's aiming at, cause in all my years I don't think I've heard a republican be so candid. I also don't think that he would have made a good politition just because he doesn't skirt the truth to make his own party look good. It is refreshing to hear the truth though. Dan

Dahaub Colin Powell is what is or was wrong with the republican party. He is a liberal at heart and has tried to convince people he is conservative. The problem is just as it has been for the Arlen Spectors of this country their true colors emerge when a socialist Prsident is elected. He is a liberal plane and simple. The best thing for the Republican party has been that this socialist in the White House has smoked out the liberal Republicans and now the true conservatives can take back the party. Get use to losing as the tide has turned and the people in this country that actually take responsibility for themselevs and their fanmilies will soon be in power again. The free hand outs and government welfare for all is coming to an abrupt end. Colin Powell likes the nanny state just as Hussein does. It's a shame he draws a pension from the very institution that holds his ilk in such low regard.

The truth? You can't handle the truth Dahaub. The only good thing about this recesssion is that it will finally prove that we can't survive on this entitlement mentality.

State after State will go bankrupt as they try to save their state employee benefit packages an spending habits, while taking in far less tax money. Time for this crap to end.

Glenn Beck showed an excellant example of a New Jersey state employee that put $135,000 into his retirement fund and will retire at 47, but will take out over $3 million in benefits by the time he's 80. Hmmmm whats wrong with that deal?

Colin Powell testified to the U.N. that Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destruction. This lying sack of shit rubber-stamped the faulty intelligence that assisted George Bush into Iraq - or has the media forgotten already?

That's the last anybody should pay attention to this dope.

The media should call him on that, but they're too busy fawning over him. Wonder why?

I've never had a problem with Colin P.

When he ran for the Presidency, he got caught calling the "Constitution" a outdated bunch of paperwork. not his exact words but its easier to get his point, if you know what I mean.

From that day on, I've had no problem with him, I wouldn't give him the sweat off my back if he was dying of thirst in the dessert!

NEVER would vote for him or the likes of him! no matter what party he claims!

Timber, I must have missed that, But I agree with your train of thought. Too bad, he did a great service for our country. Then again, I guess we're all entitled to our own opinions, and I've got mine. That's what our Country is all about. God Bless America, Bob

Colin got mixed up trying to make the transition from military service to political service. Thing is, there is still some honor in the military. Honor is absent in politics. Buzz-Gun had it right. He sat in front of the American people and lied. I say lied because he had no personal or privy knowledge of the supposed weapons in Iraq. He just let himself become a puppet of the political machine in Washington. No honor in that. Who knows what his personal goal might have been to let himself be used like that. But trying to ingratiate yourself to those above you by allowing yourself to say things you don't personally believe will always have you ending up in hot water. Too bad. I'd buy a car from the guy. But I'd never vote for him now. Jim

    But Jim:

DayJob says Powell speaks the truth!

So I guess we're to believe that back when he was carrying water for the Bush administration, he was a lying political prostitute...but now that he's doing the same for the Obama administration - he's speaking the God's Truth.

    Got it.

He may have served, but he didn't take it to heart. In my book when you take a oath to "uphold" and "defend", nothing should deture you from it!

The man is no different then Benidict Arnold(along with a host of others) and we all know what happened to him. This country has become afraid of labeling someone for what they are! We have to be Polite and Tolrant these days!
