I've always weighted down the stock end of my guns to bring that balance back to the front of the trigger guard. With front heavy guns I loop up and over the target - and miss. I do this because I'm leaning back to compensate for the front heaviness.

With all my adjustments, I end up with short LOP, heavy guns that feel like a ton of bricks when you pick them up off the rack, but shoot pretty well, at least for myself, because they're more evenly balanced.

Your solution of lightening up the front end and middle may be a better approach. The very very fast titanium mono block sounds like a second solution. Of course it would be at the opposite extreme weight wise, but in a long shoot, the better choice.
