Congrat's to the gentlemen who apparently "tied" for the CTC. How do you get co-champions though? Do you finally just call it a draw when neither drops a target after a gazillion targets? Did they just run out of time? Has this ever happened before?

Could they have asked them to "settle it" at the 27 or beyond? Or is that against the rules? Or could "they" have set the trap at a four-hole position to settle it? Inquiring minds ya know...

If the contestants and the management agreed, they could have settled the shoot off with a flip, spicing up the targets or just about any other agreeable method. The contestants and the management agreed to settle the shoot off by accepting co-champions.

A few years ago we did have co-champions for a doubles event at the Grand. This settlement was for very different reasons.

What was the event in which George Snellenberger and Dan Orlich were co-champions in 1961. They ended the shootoff after both ran 500 extra targets.

I would have like to see them go for 1000 extras, just sounds better.

sportshot; another dumb statement. Why don't you just stay with your other sports and leave trap alone.

Zara; Had to do with doubles. A ATA official let the fans (intimadation) in the stands make him change his mind after a shootoff was won by Carl Chadwell.

1,100 targets at $7.00 / Box. $308.00 w/o tax. pretty expensive but winning CTC = Priceless.

Another good reason to go to 24 gram shells. Just makes it a little tuffer.

Thye could of choose to shoot 24 gram shells BUT they didn't. So give your weak loads drama a break. Quit trying to diminish a great happening.

Zara- The shoot off I was referring to was in doubles soon after the failure to fire rule was established. The referee made an incorrect call. A pair came out, the first bird was legal and the second bird was way out of bounds. The shooter missed the first bird and then did not shoot at the illegal second bird. The referee called it a lost pair because the shooter missed the first bird. With the lost pair, the shooter lost the shoot off by one bird. This mistake was corrected the next day and we had co-champions.

The referee, as most of us also do now and then, made a mistake.

320090T: One of the posts says it was a 900 bird shootoff so it's probably 1,100 birds.
