Go pawn shopping and take cash! You can get the ar style rifles there pretty cheap most of the time.

Welcome to HiPower shooting. You're in luck, prices are actually lower today for a Bushmaster than they were 15 years ago for a Colt AR-15. No need to spend over $900-1000. Phil E

You will find many good AR-15's around now. They are fun to shoot and great at short or long range. After you find your AR take someone shooting to introduce them to the sport. Michael and Jane

Go to the local gunshow, will be plenty to look at. I shoot an M1 Garand in the CMP matches. Be careful, you may find out that you like it better than trap. Scott

CMP has M-1 Garands of various grades available from time to time. Price is determined by the grade and the builder, i.e. Springfield, Winchester, IHC., and there are some requirements to buy from CMP. The Garand Collectors Association is having their annual meeting in Kansas City July 26-29. The M-1 is an awesome rifle, deep in history. If you buy one, you'll want two, then three...it gets in your blood. AR 15's are great rifles, fun to shoot, but the M-1, "The greatest battle implement ever devised" is still my choice for just great marksmanship shooting. R.A. Liess
