<blockquote><I>"It's what Kolar offers with all their guns... "</I></blockquote>Does that mean it's good stuff or does it mean that Kolar gets a deal for including it with their products?

Just got a email back from CMD.

A case of 24/2 oz. tubes, cost $60.05 That comes to $2.50 a tube.

Get your buddy's or club to buy a case and enjoy the savings!

It is un believable how hard it is to find CMD Gun Lube. I am down to the last little bit in my last tube. Shooting Coach I sent you a e-mail but no answer. Found a shooting supply place that sells it at $6.95 a 2oz tube BUT they only ship FedEx so to buy 2 tubes they want $13.90 + $15 dollars to ship. I may just call CMD and buy a whole damn case. Humm maybe start selling it out of my truck at the local shoots ;o)

Talked with Tammy at CMD and she was willing to give me a distributors name and number if I just wanted to buy a couple of tubes. Now that is good customer service. To say thanks I bought a case directly from them. With shipping it still comes to a little less than a flat of STS's. Should have it by Monday. Should last me and several others two lifetimes.

Quite a few years ago, I was also having a problem finding a local supplier for CMD lube.

I called their main office. The nice lady on the phone asked my location, then spent several minutes fiddling with her files.

Finally, she said, "I can't find anyone close to you. It'll be easier if I just send you a tube at no charge."

Which she did. Interesting company, good gun lube.

Had the bright idea I would start selling some CMD to local shooters in medical syringes(without the needle), so I bought it in full-sized grease cartridges, comes 10 to a case, and also in a large tube form.

I have tons of it, and will fill some syringes some day.

I use LUCAS RED "N" TACKY or mobil one synthetic wheel bearing grease. For oil I use mobil one synthetic 5w20. All the above are way over engineered for any firearms requirement. I encourage anyone paying big bucks for boutique specialty lubes to request a copy of the MSDS. Most are mineral oil with a few common additives and some stink'em in a fancy bottle with a catchy name. The same goes for bore cleaner. None of the commercial stuff will work better than home made Ed's Red on powder and wad fouling. Even though you will pay many times more for the pretty 2 ounce bottle.

Yep that CMD is really expensive. Bought a Kolar Combo to get my first tube and then paid 7 bucks for my next tube and it only lasted 2 1/2 years. Darn that comes to almost 3 dollars a year I don't see how I can afford to keep using a product that was made specifically for firearms at that price ;o)

But buying in bulk just like reloading gets my cost down to around 1 dollar a year so if I dig into my Grandkids inheritance I just might be able to swing it.
