Closed Trap Field

    Club has been there over 100 years, along comes a builder puts in a few condos and the club had to close one of two trap fields.

    My question is why didn't the club purchase the land.

    Club is located in Braintree, Massachusetts.

    It looks like that second trap had not been used in many years. Trees growing around the trap house.

    Maybe the seller would not sell to the club....

    Maybe the builder could pay more for the land....

    Lots of possibilities...

    Yep. You still can't drop shot on lands of another. No free range out there anymore..

    Many of these clubs built 100 years ago where out in the country. More, and more clubs are becoming in the city.

    Buy land. My Izaak Walton League chapter with shooting very much a part of the program just purchased another 50 acres of expensive land this year, bringing our total land ownership and protection from development to 623 acres. You do what you have to do.
