Am wondering if anyone has had any experience with alliants clay dot?
Charge volumes are supposed to be equivilant to Hodgdon clays data.Is this true? Have been having trouble getting Hodgdon clays and clay dot is only available in 8lbs. Would like some input before I purchase 8lbs.!
    Thanks!

The above link should work. Here are the url's for a few recent threads on the subject. If you do a search, you'll find a whole lot more. Clays and Clay Dot are similar, not exactly the same. I would strongly recommend that you use data from the corresponding manufacturer and not substitute one powder for another in any data set. The two powders seem to be about the same density, so the bushing charts for Hodgdon Clays would be close for Alliant's Clay Dot. In my experience, they are within a few tenths of a grain for the lots I have used. Except for the cost, you probably won't notice much difference.

I can switch back and forth without changing anything on my Mec.

Clay's and Claydot meter the same and for me, they shoot the same. Claydot is cheaper, so I use it when I can get it.
