I've been loading Claybuster wads for years, but i've always noticed
a lot of the wads have these spider web like strands of plastic hanging off
the sprue where they're injection molded,
It's my belief that these strands melt upon ignition, and cause the classic
    claybuster plastic fouling syndrome.
    I shoot mostly 12S0 and 12S3 clones.
Every bag i've bought this year has been completely free of spider web strings,
flashings, etc. the overall quality of the wads look better too,i think they've really improved their wads recently.

I just finished 1000 of the CB1118(WAA-12 substitute) and i had no stringys. Loaded smooth, shot smooth, no plastic fouling here. This was my first use of them and i'm sold--Matt

The stringing is from the mold being to hot or the cycle time was to fast. I have shot lots of claybuster wads and never seen what you are talking of.

I have never noticed excessing stringing, described above, or excessive plastic build up in my barrels when I use Claybuster wads.

Do you folk that say you've never witnessed this stringing shoot
    CB-12S0 or S3 copies?
Perhaps there was a large bad lot of these?
I've loaded thousands upon thousands that had these string.
not every wad mind you,but about 10%-20% of the wads.

I too have loaded thousands of CB1118(WAA-12 substitute)and never seen any stringy webs in them; the 'petals' are sometimes wavy and folded a bit but doesn't seem to present any problems. If they've improved them that's great but didn't think they needed improving!

I used Claybusters at one time several years and can vouch for them having fine plastic strings in one full case. It wasn't a problem, just a nusiance.

I've seen some real fine "plastic" hairs on Claybusters on occasion. I don't think they have much to do with plastic fouling, but I don't like them either.

I have seen a change in the CB2118-12 Wads recently (Federal 12S0 clone). I had two cases that were different. One case had smooth wad petals and the other has a rib on the inside of each wad petal. I've checked some patterns and have not noticed any real difference between the two. Maybe a larger sampling of patterns would reveal a minor difference.

I noticed that as well with the latest 12S0 clone,
had a strange rib look to the petal,
but no strings like the smooth petaled ones i used to get,
    wads looked awesome.
