I have an old Citori in need of stock refinishing. Ground down screwdrivers to remove the stock screws got them all out. On the fore end how do you get the latch out of the stock after the screws are removed? I need to remove the latch and the other insert that are in the stock. Also does anyone know of a gunsmith who would cut larger slots in the stock screws to make working with them easier? The two screws in the trigger guard are very thin. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The drivers you need are hollow ground for use in magnetically held screw drivers and are available at any tool store. Invest your money in proper tools rather than a one time fix. A decent set of mixed driver tips will have that tip in the set along with other useful driver tips.
Once you have the screws out the wood and metal should separate with just hand pressure. Make sure you are seeing all the screws.
