Ben shoots 1 oz. loads, and well, but his main job in Tucson is guiding Steven, a 13-year old who *is* shooting 7/8 oz. loads (as usual) and shooting in his first major shoot. I don't think the light loads are holding Steven back much, though, as out of 664 entrants in the Handicap yesterday only SEVEN managed to beat his 98, and out of the 607 entrants in Tuesday's Handicap only 15 beat Steven's 96.
In the Alaska State Shoot last year Steven got better with each passing day, and so far he is following that pattern in Tucson. If Ben wants to beat Steven, he better go back to breaking them all! Steven is getting faster, stronger and more coordinated. Ben, bless his heart, is trying hard to slow down the physical deterioration.
Good shooting Steven, keep grinding them up. Scott
