I am just wondering what different folks are using for Doubles chokes.

Son just started shooting doubles and we are using mod or imp mod in lower and full in top.

As quick as I have seen some of the "Big Dogs" hitting the first target, it made me wonder if they are using a more open choke as the birds seem to be only about 10 yards out of the house as they are "spot shooting" them.

    Just wondering.......

FWIW, I'm using Modified (.020") in the bottom/Improved Modified (.030") in the top. Beretta Optima chokes.

Skeet or Improved Cylinder for the 1st shot & Modified or IM for the 2nd.

Thanks Shawn, there is good stuff in that thread.

Don't have anything more open than a Mod so I was looking for ideas before dropping some jingle on some more chokes.

Chokes and ammunition work differently in different barrels. I've struggled for some years with trying to shoot decent doubles scores. I think I have finally found what works for me ... 750 bore Kolar with .010 tube in the first barrel and a .025 in the second. I also think a .020 tube would work fine in the second barrel. Probably the most important thing is to hit the second target before it starts to fall. Bill Malcolm

.016" and .024" are my preferred chokes for ATA doubles. However, I'm using my bunker barrels for doubles now. They are choked .019" and .032', and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
