The best towing truck I have ever owned. Plenty of power and lots of torque.

Mine ate 2 turbo chargers in 57000 miles, pulling long, heavy, and continuous. Drove good, stopped mediocre, and pulled the same. Allison great. Went with a 450 Dodge....Far superior in turning, pulling, and stopping.....merlyn....

My 09 gets 18-20 mpg unloaded and pulls my camper and boat great. I've had an 06 and 09 with no issues

Bought new one in 02. Bad injector at 85k. Replaced four myself. $1600. Another bad injector at 115k. Another $1600 again doing myself. Model did not qualify for extended 200k warranty. Bearing in Allison froze at 130k. $4920. Injector leaking now at 140k. Meticulously serviced. Gov bailout for GM unions. 50 year GM man. Never again. Jimmy Borum

I have 205,000 on my 05 Duramax. Brakes at 110,000. Water pump at 160,000. Wheel bearing, ball joints and tie rods at 172,000. Turbo at 188,000. and a set of batteries at 35,000(under warranty) is all I have done to my truck. I love mine and plan to put another 100,000 miles. 13- 15mpg pulling. 17-18.8 mpg on the express way. 19-24 mpg on reg 55 mph roads on longer trips. That's with a Bully dog chip set at additional 75 horse over stock. Change oil at 5k miles, fuel filter at 15k miles.

Don't know about the 08 but have had two, an 01& 04. The 01 went 125,000 miles with just oil, air filter, & tire changes. The 04 wasn't quite that good but still no real problems in 135,000 miles. Both had Edge chips set at 90 extra HP and averaged 18 around town and 14 towing an enclosed snowmobile trailer. Drove them both like a hotrod. Traded the 04 for an 13 F150 with Ecoboost and miss it everyday!!!

I have always been a chevy man. Pull a fith wheel camper and a 4-horse trailer. about 20 weekends out of 52. I had 01 duramax and and 03 both had fuel rail problems and had to replace fuel pumps. Went out to a Jr. rodeo last month in a ford with some friends. Got tired of watching the dodges go around us without any trouble especially in the mountains. That hurt to say more than you know, but after that trip my next diesel will be dodge.
