Has anyone used a radar gun to set targets? Should you stand in front of the house and get them as soon as they leave the house? Can speed be checked from behind the house? Just wanting to settle some speed issues.

It's all in the rule book....but to answer your question. Most of the guns should be read from behind the house, altho the lower powered guns can be read from the plate of the pat trap.

I have seen many that are in the know at State shoots use the radar guns from behind the trap house.Less expensive guns are from the front of the trap house.Bob Schultz will know for certain as he sells several models. He can be found advertising on this site.

Either directly behind the house or the 16 yd line depending on the type of radar gun. Always stop the trap oscillation & radar straight away. See page 49 of the ATA rule book.
