I have a 870 stock and forearm that I would like to have checkered. Anybody out there know of someone who is good at doing this? Remove the XXX's from the email.

Joe- The 870 may have "pressed in" checkering. Can this be recut into real checkering? I had several requests to do that but would never try it.

I've recut pressed checkering. The checkering ends up a little deeper into the stock, or you can file off the pressed checkering and start over, again. Of course, the stock has to be completely refinished.
