Well finally checked the POI on one of my guns. Its a custom DeVault Beretta conversion that I finally got back. It was shooting 8" high @ 13 yds. It was a miracle I did as well with it @ the NC State shoot as I did. Bead alignment means nothing. Paper doesn't lie.

Phil- I noticed at the NC State shoot someone had tested their POI using the back of the trap house (about 15 yards). Was that you?

I was the person who was sound asleep in two shoot-offs.

Phil Berkowitz---By the way I had to remove 1/8" shim from the stock & raise the rib 3/16" to get the POI to be at what I wanted.

Kraiza-the gun was made for me in 2007-Its a 391 with a claro stock & ebony grip. the action was polished, the barrel has a typical DeVault adjustible rib. I sold it almost two years ago. It changed hands two times. It was for sale on Trapshooters 2 months ago & I bought it back. Needed the lighter weight till I build up my upper body stength & stamina. The pictures are on the posting by David Anderson.

But did it break more birds afterwards? I generally adjust the settings to maximize the birds broken. Then let the Poi be what it may.

Just got back from a local club shoot, tied a _AA27AA-shooter--paper doesn't lie.

Phil- Did you shoot well or did the AA27AA shooter shoot poorly?

When I check POI @ 13 yds how high should a trap gun be shooting?

Phil, your opponent shot from the wrong yardage. Good thing he broke all of them, that makes for 25 straight "no targets" for him. I'm surprised Pat didn't catch the wrong yardage thingie? :) Good shooting Phil! Hap

Hap, this was a Lewis class fun shoot, your Handicap yardage is your ATA yardage + 1 yard. The score was combo of singles & caps.

Nice job Phil. At the Southern Zone next month, do you want to shoot or flip when we are called for a shoot off? To save time we could decide this before the shoot.
