The Dirty Harry Special is a .44 cal mag revolver, 61/2 inch barrel, S&W Model 29. Lavishly engraved and inlaid with 4 oz. of 24K gold. Minutely detailed San Francisco Police Inspector's Badge, bearing same number used by Eastwood in the films. Frame and barrel fully engraved w/numerous flush 24K gold inlays, among which are Alcatraz, the names of the 3 Dirty Harry movies, and the star wielding his mighty .44 mag revolver. It took Master engraver, Joseph Condon over 500 hours to complete the engraving. This is considered to be Mr. Condon's greatest achievement by other master engravers. Mr. Condon is now deceased. How ironic. The guy makes a fortune out of making the movies using a handgun and he is a supporter of handgun control.

    Only in hollywood. LOL

BTW, S&W claimed it's sales went up 400% after the movie came out. I paid $425.00 for my 8-3/8" in the wooden presentation case. Retail was around $286.00. Sold the thing a few years later and still got $550.00 for it.
