How about a used M1100? Not really a cheap gun but you should be in the ball park at $500.

I know you are looking for cheap, but I believe you would be happy with a Beretta 303 or 390 or a Remington 1100. I would think you might be able pick up a used one for $500 or perhaps a little more. Remember . . . price you'll forget, quality you won't. Good luck on your search. John E.

Buy a used 1100 or Beretta; they'll still be shooting long after the cheap "off-brands" have given up the ghost. Plus if you decide to upgrade you can always sell them for close to what you paid for them--you almost have to give the cheapies away.

Used older model 1100's at a gun show. $400 for a real nice one. Rough ones down to $300 or $275. They are like the energizer bunny and parts are everywhere and cheap. I got a gas piston for my buddies Beretta and with the seal and retaining ring plus shipping it was almost a hundred bucks. Rip off I would say. They are nice guns. No better than 1100 though.
