Recently picked up a BT99 and I would like it to shoot lower, does anyone know if by putting a Gracoil adjustable up and down will make it shoot different or do I need to change the rib.

Lower the comb and or raise the end of the rib or bead.

Is it a stock BT-99 or has it been modified?

Does it have an adjustable comb or rib on it?

An adjustable butt pad will not change POI. You need to change either your front height or rear. An adjustable comb or add on rib are a few options.

Rhetorically I ask, why do people want a flat shooting gun when all the targets are rising?

to figure out what you need -- as a trial- at the hobby store , get a piece of balsa wood ( or some light weight wood) 1/4" wide so it fits on your rib---cut or sand a slope - 1/4" at muzzle down to 1/8" at back , this will make it shoot approx 4" lower @ 30yds-- take black tape and wrap it on to secure wood to rib (paint wood flat black) -----then try 3/8" down to 1/8" slope - this is a cheap way of figuring out what you need---
in referance to an adj comb, yes they are NOT designed for going down much- i have seen combs cut down to go lower but not often is that done unless specified to who is doing the install

ps: in the serial # are letters- they are year of mfg and rib type-- there was a period where the ribs were higher in the back and it really made them high shooters

Lower comb, or Bigger/taller front bead.

I have a 686 that shoots flat, I like that and want both guns to shoot the same, so much easier to use either one that way

How flat is flat and why do you want to shoot two guns?

One option is to send it to Tron Gun works (TS advertiser) and have him install an adjustable comb with a double cut. This will allow a lower poi than the unmodified comb . He does great work.

So where does the BT shoot at 13 yards?

Where does your 686 shoot at 13 yards?

I used an aftermarket fiber-optic front sight for my fixed-rib shotgun to achieve this same result. It was much higher than the factory screw in bead. It came with two sided tape for application and I did not even have to remove the original bead.

Give the barrel a swing against the tree, hitting it on the bottom. Reverse sides if you swung to hard. It sometimes takes a little effort to get it just right.

If that don't work remove some of the comb. That does not have to occur on the top if you cut it, and reattach it.
