Changing chokes when going to less weight?

    The best way to figure this out is to pattern the individual gun with the loads you will be using. Some people recommend a tighter choke with less shot. I normally use an IM with most loads and have not seen any major difference with 1oz and a full choke. My IM is pretty tight to begin with. My full has an uneven pattern, which is why I leave it alone. Your own results may vary.

    QS, I'd sure like to see some pictures of chokes which, like your full, throw uneven patterns. Mine all throw even or uneven, depending on where you look and which shot it is. Maybe you, or someone else with the same results, could shoot a few and post the results here. It's a "pattern quality" question which is talked about all the time but for which we - I included - have little or no data. This is not a negative post, or it's not meant to be anyway, not at all.
