Someone started a thread entitled CG or Krieghoff- and I think that was way over compared.

In fact CGs do not feel anywhere near as solid as a Browning.

Lets start this at a more appropriate comparison- Zolis have been around for awhile and are built about like CGs

CG or Zoli? Or what about an Ithaca 51 - It has a lifetime warranty like the CG?

My opinion is you get a lot more gun for your money from a zoli and they arent banned from any gun clubs like CGs

Gene, let it rest on the bottom and jig it about every 6 or 7 seconds and I think you'll do well.

    Hmm...

    1. Krieghoff over CG (no contest)
    2. Neither. (Buy a "mint" old Superposed instead.)

Just because a Browning feel heavy don't make it a better gun than a CG.
A K80 is heavy but not a Browning.
If you ever shot a Zoli more the one round of trap or sporting clays. You will see that the CG is a better balance gun and very easy to shoot.

I like Zoli. I have two older ones.

Right now, the Z-Gun they sell is a sporting clays guns. And they're a really nice gun.

They're supposed to be coming out with an American trap combo this year.

The man who owns the gun store in Monte San Savino.. who won 2 Gold metals shooting a Perazzi some 40 years ago.. Proudly showed me his Zoli.. Now.. this man knows more about shooting than I'll ever live to see..

Remember.. in Europe they come with a forend only.. The butt stock is only fitted on the wrist.. the rest is a huge lump of wood.. and the stock maker at the gunclub he owns fitted it to him..

He sells the CG.. and likes them too..just.. because of his size..(he's a tall man) he liked the Zoli better.. I think what we have here are 2 very nice guns that differ in drnamics a little..

    All Good.. Mike

I think it is pretty clear from the comments so far that the Zoli is a better gun than a CG and its not banned from gunclubs

I think the Zoli would maintain their value much better than a CG also

Plus a Zoli is going to cost only a fraction of what the CG does

    Regards from Iowa

What gun clubs ban CGs, are they the same that ban K-80s?

Or is it the CGs are winning so much they don't want them competeing.

The Zoli do they have adjustable ribs for a fair comparision?

If we do a fair shake on comparing it would be equal dollar comparing.

K-80s have a lot of parts in them, plus release triggers that are all over the nubers, from light to heavy variations, not consistant.

CG releases are factory and stay the same time after time.

K-80 RTs releases are converted back to pulls at the factory repair centers
they don't want the responsibility for them.

Now the Zoli pricing is in the range of Brownings and some Berettas.

Allems releases for the Blaser's leave a lot to be desired.

Blaser releases by Pat McCarthy are dependable and adjustable relese/set

Their are Pros and Cons we need a level table for comparing and I think that table would be Suggested List Pricing on comparable models to be fair.

There is NOTHING wrong with a CG.. Gene.. Personally.. I don't think either will holds its value like a Perazzi or Krieghoff until they are here 20 years.. but that's not the issue.. You are starting with a gun that cost half of a P or K gun.. Zoli does not have a big following here... but in Europe..it's HUGE.. CG is the new kid on the block..

I've shot and worked on a CG..and a Zoli.. I have no bones to pick with either of them.. No.. I'm not ready to give up my Perazzi..but both are excellent..

Ok... I am putting an end to this! I vote for a $379.99 Stoeger Condor from Gander Mountain. It can loose 50% of its value and you would only be out $189.95. Talk about holding its value! Why oh why did I ever buy that C.G.

I've been shooting a Zoli Z Sport about 3 yrs & absolutely love this gun. I've heard good things about CG but sell Zoli guns short. They are very nice & well made.
