He has the right to post his "no gun" restriction. But he then is responsible of the safety of all patrons in his store and on its property. That liability is one reason restaraunts are taking the "no gun" signs down.

I choose not to boycott them until they BAN concealed carry in their stores. All they are doing is ASKING you not to do it, and, therein lies the difference. They are not refusing to serve you if you choose to carry.... As was mentioned here, there is no problem carrying into any Starbucks in a Safeway store where concealed carry is legal, so, for me, it's no big deal. If you are carrying properly in a concealed manner, they would never know anyway... Way too many other issues that need to be addressed that command more concern, in my opinion... This is the sign at the doorway of a Post office in Skagway, Alaska (where no permits are needed for CCW).

Sorry Mike, you are incorrect there. If you are license by the State you live in, you are given that right to conceal and carry. Period. State law is state law. But if you choose to enact a policy going against a state law, then the private practice is liable for the "safety" afforded to you, by law, that is the ability to protect yourself from ANY harm, be it a patron or employee.

Great web site if you live in Ohio. Also to NOTE - Conceal carry into a "no gun" private property setting is not against the State law. Unless you fail to leave the premises when asked to do so. Then its criminal trespassing. Same as demanding service when you are no wearing shoes/shirt and the sign is posted re that policy.

Bottom Line - if you plan on C&C, know your State laws, because alot of cops dont.

If you have a Concealed Pistol License, you are required to Open Carry on school grounds here in MI.

As for the Starbucks.... No Guns.... No Money....

This is what should be posted....

We were so close to getting a Concealed Carry bill signed into law, until Sandyhook happen. Our Governor got spooked and vetoed it. We are trying to push that legislation again... That would allow us to conceal our firearm on school grounds, thus keeping the anti's calm.

Bottom line is the Starbuck's CEO is anti-gun. His move raises the conscious thought that guns and people that use guns are inherently bad. Don't patronize his business.

Wait a minute,, Wait a minute,,, Starbucks is not anti-gun,, Like any business owner they want all patrons to feel comfortable and to spend more time/money in their business.. Simply asking people not to open carry guns into their business as it makes other patrons uncomfortable is not unreasonable!!!

I am a vietnam vet, a die hard hunter and skeet shooter,, and yes I admit that sometimes when I go places that people open carry it too makes me un-comfortable..

    Best Regards Art

Starbucks CEO IS antigun! He's Clinton's buddy and avowed LIBERAL!
(When Clinton fell down during his presidency in Florida, it was at "Howie's" house as a house guest!)
Plus He (Howie) has armed guards just like rest of the liberals that want THEIR
lives protected, but don't want you to have that ability!
