Ok I would like to know how the Heak a guy gets a 2 yard punch with a 50 straight with 25 of them being from the 16 yard line? Is this an ATA punch or just something you boys in central Wisc. dreamed up? Sure seems a bit looney to me. Bill Grill

Bill.We do that at Minneapolis Gun Club. 25 singles and 25 hcp from the 25 yard line or your ATA yardage. And if you pop a 50 we move you back another yard. (max 27)

These are not ATA shoots. Section III paragraph E of the ATA rule book explains that events of less than 50 targets may not be registered. With only 25 targets per discipline, there would not be enough targets to complete an event.

If the top score of the day is 49, they get a 1 yard punch. The second place score always gets a 1/2 yard punch. 50 straight pot has been in the 1000's of dollars in the past. It is currently over $400.

Typical payouts for top score range between $350-$1000. Champion and Winner of each Special Category receive Tilden belt buckles as well. It seems a bit looney to me that someone would think that winning shooters should continue to win trophies and money from everyone else and not be penalized in some way.

Funny how 50 straights become rare in the cold weather.

Results for Minocqua's shoot have been posted and can now be viewed online.

The next shoot will be January 17th at Manawa.

Manawa will also be hosting a "warmup" shoot on Saturday, January 16th along with normal open shooting and league shooting. We hope to see you there. Check out the CWTA website for more details.

    Thanks

    Jake

    Hi

Why is the score of 47 not posted on the HOA list?

    Regards

The shooter's first round of the day is the only one that counts toward high gun standings.

Zardiseighty... TL these guys are nuts. They go to a half dozen (or more) central wisconsin clubs on a rotational basis and shoot this winter trap thingy. And they pay money to some of the shooters for participating (That's called "Hitting a Louie" in da voods). And as you can see by the number of folks participating that they are some tough hombres and hombre-ettes. If (and when) the weather ever warms up (30 or above) I'm gonna get a big group from Prescott (further-most Western town in Wisconsin) and come and show these dudes how to shoot mit-mittens.

    Yocko.

C.E.D. Tell the Jerster that the Cat is fired up and bookin this Sunday. Me and My SIL are goin for a "Break-down run" to a couple of the local haunts. One of the Southern Trails is closed because of a bridge repair, but just dinkin around will be fun. Runnin should be fast. Snow a bit sparse.

Jack, "dinkin" or "drinkin"? Put a scabbard on the cat and head to Manawa next week.
