    have question for some of you that have a CCW. Does your state have a permit number on it. In WV we dont Another thing if you have a CCW we the FFLs dont have to do a NICS check so if you buy a gun and have a permit show it. Saves us time . Also they have a new form again this is the 5th in last 5 years. Better than the rest but is a book form now . rick

    In Texas we have a number on the CHL. No NICS check to buy a firearm, just the CHL.

    In Ohio there is a number on the permit but you are still a required NICS check. The reason a check is required is that the CCW permit is approved by the local sherrif not the state BCI.

    I thought that NICS was a national requirement regardless of local law? In Michigan you don't need the local permit to purchase (disguised as a "Safety Inspection", but you do have to pass NICS. cls
