I received a ROBO call last night from the NRA telling me to contact my state rep(now) with the phone number. According to the message there is a vote scheduled today 2/26 on the Conceal Carry bill in Illinois. What was strange was the the reps name given as the person to contact was not framiliar. Any one in Illinois get the call or know more about this?

I heard that Madigan was going to try to scuddle the bill with amendments. More Chicago politics. I called my Rep yesterday.

    Bruce,

I did get an email but I inadvertently deleted it. I realized it was something important and wanted to read and save it. When I went to my "mail trash" to retrieve it, I couldn't find it. What exactly was in the email and do you have any idea on how it is written? Part of me wants to cheer but like you, I am also a long time resident with the "believe it when I see it" gut feeling.

We have to keep pushing though.

Go to www.illinoiscarry.com they are all outlined there. Typical Madigan/Illinois crap. They're trying to wash it out with gun free zones and giving no time for rebuttals or witness slips. Here we go again (sigh)

Matt here is the text of what the NRA/ILA sent yesterday:

Illinois: Right to Carry Legislation to be Heard on the House floor TOMORROW!

Tomorrow, as previously reported by NRA-ILA here, your state Representative will be considering a bill to bring Right to Carry to Illinois, as ordered by the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Shepard v. Madigan. House Bill 1155, a bill sponsored by Representative Michael Madigan (D-22) will be among the legislation considered tomorrow, and Right to Carry amendments will most likely be offered to this shell bill. Anti-gun legislators like Rep. Mike Madigan have been trying to sabotage efforts to strengthen recognition of Second Amendment rights in Illinois, and can be expected to offer hostile amendments to House Bill 1155 which would contain weak and incredibly flawed carry provisions.

The details of the carry language are not available at this time, but it can be expected that anti-gun legislators will use this opportunity to make Right to Carry in Illinois the most restrictive in the nation. The time is now for TRUE Right to Carry in Illinois, and it is imperative that you call your state Representative TODAY. Tell him or her to not support any amendment unless it is one specifically supported by the NRA on HB 1155.

Don't let anti-gun politicians sabotage your right to self-defense with their deceptive amendments. Call and email your state Representative now and ask them to support only NRA-backed amendments for Right to Carry on HB 1155.

Contact information for your legislators can be found here.

    RLC,

Thank you. I believe that us what I deleted by accident.

I'll admit this stuff is getting awful confusing to me. It sure seems more and more that we will never get anything worth a crap here with that crap hole up North running the show.
