I have been using CB2118 wads (12S3 substitute), but when I went to buy some today, the store said all they had were Red 8s. Store person said everyone was using the Red 8s now and they were not going to order anymore CB2118 wads. Are the Red 8s truly a 12S3 substitute? Any satisfied users?

    They are a 12C1 substitute.

I am not at home so I do not have the offical name or number, but if you are talking about the federal claybuster replacement, figure 8, 1-1/8- 1-1/4 wad [red]. Yes, been using them at 16 yd for two years now. They really seem to crush targets and have very little felt recoil. Loading: Federal cheapie hull, 18.2 grains promo, 1-1/8oz 7.5, fio primer.

They have a larger diameter than the AA clones. work great in Federazl, fiocchi, and all other straight wall cases.
