Caution do not buy the new style TS SAhell catcher for a 1100 & 11-87 stock #
TS -1100 2001 Made of quality spring steel & Super strength Black Plastic.

It broke in 2 pieces and fell on the ground after 5 shots shooting new Remington Nitro 27 shells.

I found one of the old style spring steel teflon coated ones and it works fine.

It will be a waste of money.

The ones for the Beretta's work OK. That is why I bought one.

Thanks. I have a couple of spare early all plastic catchers. I see on their website that the teflon coated steel catchers are also still available. I might order one or two of those and squirrel them.

Piano wire always worked on mine. Easily removable for doubles.

I agree with Mrs Wilbur, Piano wire works better than about any other catcher I've tried.

How many times has this happened? I only ask because if this is just a one time incident is it really fair to say not to buy this product?

Can someone post a photo of the piano wire setup.

You can tune a piano wire but you can't tuna fish.

You drill 2 small indentations just inside the receiver on the top side where the shell ejects, then spring some piano wire in there so that it is bowed under compression just a enough to catch the shell as it ejects. To take it out for doubles, you just pull on it and put it in your pocket until you're done shooting doubles.

Here's a picture of mine. I used a .050 drill bit and .040 piano wire. Just be sure to drill the holes at an angle.

I would like to switch to the piano wire, I am tired of the TS scrating my gun. Where is the best place to buy the piano wire?

    Thanks.

We use a fish hook for our wire. Cut off the eye and the barb curve.

Hobby stores are a good place to find piano wire.

So many pianos are suffering just because...

I guess I better run and go pull the several years old plastic shell catcher off my 1100 before it breaks and quits working. Thanks for the warning. BTW some of the metal ones are too tall for some guns causing jams and require some filing to clear.

SBE that's why I went to the wire catchers. Too much trouble with the clip on catchers.
