I am having a cataract removed soon ( non dominant eye ) and I would like to hear your experience and how it affected your shooting in a positive or negative way. Thanks.

    Shoot safe, John

Well, good luck on the surgery. I use mine as sun glasses. I've had them so long that I do not know the difference.

What type lens are you going with. That can make a difference.

I fly airplanes for a living and the doctor recommended the standard lens as the bifocal can cause some glare issues at night. I don't have much reading correction anyway. I don't have any idea what the FAA has to say about that.

    Shoot safe, John

I had cataract removed from my off eye several weeks ago, also corrected astysigimism (sp) at the same time. WOW what a improvment.
Yes, I shoot better. Able to pick up the target quicker and clearer.
I shoot with both eyes open, I had lost so much vision that I was actually shooting with one eye, had real problems on cloudy or dark days.I didn't realize how much I had lost until I got repaired. Dr plans to check the other eye in six months; maybe fix it then.

I had cataract both eyes in December 09. Had standard lens
as Dr said the Crystal lens not as sharp as standard. Mine
went great and improved vision especally in cloudy days.
Dr wouldn't let me shoot for a month but in Dec that no problem.
Warren, I thought U still leagally blind????

Warren, good to hear that you have positive results from your cataract removal and lens implant. I had cataracts removed from my eyes last year and Toric lens implants and my results are very different from yours. My surgeon said I am "one in a hundred" that has problems after the operation. That does not help me. I am worst off now than I was before the operation on my eyes. I did tell the surgeon that I am very disappointed with the results from the cataract removal and lens implant. She just released me and said she will she me in 12 months. Now what do I do? Tom
