I have seen a few canvasbacks on Bays Branch and the Panora sh#* pond in the fall a few times. Still have geese standing on the ice on my pond but I was in southern Iowa yesterday and the ice was out of a lot of them there.

We seem to have a lot of Canvasbacks pass through Alberta in the fall. They are not protected here and are very tasty.
