Top single, unsingle, doesn't much matter. Unless your gun is set up to shoot about 15 inches high, and unless you cant the gun about 45 degrees, the effect is inconsequential.

I have to remind myself all the time not to cant my unsingle. However, when I forget, it doesn't seem to make any difference.

If you have to remind your self of anything while shooting something is wrong!

Canting is good, it puts the rib and beads right in front of your eye. You can keep your head up straght and look right down the rib. HMB

The effect of canting is a function of how high the gun shoots. If it shoots 24" high when it is straight up, it would shoot 24" to the side if it were canted 90 degrees.
