Just wondering why we in the US don't see any Canadian quarters, dimes or pennies any more. Can't remember the last time I saw one. They would not work in American vending machines and were a real pain.

Its possible that the rate of exchange is more for Canadian than US coins. Check with your bank. Larry

Businesses did not like them, as the banks charged a fee when they were deposited.

Money is at par for the last few years, but those bank fees....

Canada is doing away with the penny, if they have not already done so.

I took my loose change jar money to the bank recently, ran it through the sorter, it separated the canadian coins, and the bank refused to take them!

The teller said to take them to McDonalds and use them there!

I remember in 1988 at the Montana State shoot in Helena, a lady was buying up all the new (then) Canadian 1 dollar coins (Loonies)she could find at par. The Canadian dollar was at a discount back then so all us Canucks sold her all we had....

Canadians can't even put a likeness of one of their citizens on their coins and bills. Only the picture of the old broad that hasn't worked a day in her life.

Lots of them here in the UP of Michigan. Casino in Soo michigan has Canadian chips so you don't need to wory about the exchange rates. At least the last time I was there they did.

We used to get a lot of Canuck coins here, but they've dwindled away to almost none now.

Still have some Canadian folding money squirreled, but it was left over from our honeymoon 30 years ago, kept as mementoes.

BTW, speaking of Canada, come and get your worthless Jim Carrey. He's stinking up the place.
