I have a camcorder that is about 4 years old. It takes the VHS-C tapes. I have one of the cleaning tapes. Was wondering if there was anything else to clean to get a better picture or is it time to upgrade. Most filming is done indoors. Thanks. Birdtracker

Take it to a reputable camera store and tell them what you want from your camera and if cleaning would get you a better picture. They might send you to a place that repairs and cleans cameras or they might tell that what you expect is not possible with a cleaning. You might have to make a choice as to the cost of a cleaning/tune up compared to the cost of a new camera.

The technoligy has changed so much in just 4 years that a new one might be your best bet.

If you have to spend money to improve it, consider the option of replacing it. Newer technology will give a better picture and probably not cost as much as you would think. Most newer formats allow you to edit your videos on a computer and burn them to a DVD.
