Weather wise, we had one of the best days for this Pen-Mar. Partly sunny and 50 with light winds. Sounds like there should have been some real good scores today. For some shooters like Ted and Gail's daughter Nancy it was a top-gun score of 49x50 and for young Garret Anderson it was his first 25 staight on 16's. For most of the rest of us it was a "should have shot better day". Maybe we need that winter weather to help us focus. Anyhow, the Jim Burke Memorial Trophy will remain in Quarryville's clubhouse for another year. And, yes the "A" team was a big part of Quarryville's win today, lead by Mike Sullenberger's 47. There was discussion in the clubhouse today about how anyone could shoot from the 20 yard line(Mike is on the 22) and be an "A" team, but it is what it is. I know they put the screws to us every chance they got. Good shooting guys (for real, I mean it). Now all that remains to be seen is if Oxford will let Cedar sneak past them for 2nd.

As I mentioned earlier, Nancy Kucera was head of the class today with 49x50 and will be headed to the 20yd line. Rich Lapham had a 49 in a make-up and is now on the 24 1/2(Nancy and Rich both shoot for Quarryville).

The only bright spot today for Oxford was Dave Jackson with a 48x50 and he is now on the 21 1/2.

    Lewis Payout: 48(1)70.50__47(3)15.50__43(4)17.50__42(7)6.50

    Hi-Gun 47(3)24.00__Hi-Hcp 23(6)11.50

50/50 winner was John Townsend (37.00)

I'm running out of ways to say that Quarryville kicked our butts so I'll just let the results speak for themselves. Quarryville 458(33 shooters), Cedar 450(49 shooters), Oxford 449 (30 shooters)

Club Standings: Quarryville 28.5pts, Oxford 23.5pts, Cedar 20pts.

Shooter Standings after 11 shoots top 5:

    16's R. Lewis 263, W. Ruhl 259, B. Harrison 255, M. Sullenberger 255, T. Wallace 253

    Hcp T. Lefever 245, T. Wallace 245, R. Lewis 241, Matroni Jr 241, T. Parker 239

    H.O.A. R. Lewis 504, T. Wallace 498, W. Ruhl 489, T. Parker 488, M. Sullenberger 487

All shooters with 12 shoots under their belts now get to start dropping low scores. It will be real interesting to see who jumps up out of the weeds. I really hope my lead holds up. Of course I have a few low scores to drop as well. Let the games begin.

Since we are getting toward the end of the league I would like to bring the shooter standings up to date by class and yardage. This doesn't include the shoot on 1/16 or the make-ups done on that date.

    C: A. Francart 241, T. Sheets 240, E. Townsend 231

    D: L. Herr 216, K. Greenway 212, L. Francart 208

Hcp by Yardage top 3:(your group is the yardage you start at)

Went to Quarryville tonite to practice up for Sat. While I was there Lisa (Armand's lovely wife, he says she will be impossible to live with now) ran her first 25 straight. We got to shoot her hat. Nice job Lisa!!! As for my practice, I ran the 16's on Trap 1, went to the 26 on Trap 2 and ran them too. I just hope I can do it on Sat (I have a few guys breathing down my neck, waiting for me to slip up).

Perfect day except for the results. Oxford got stomped on again. I'll be glad when this is over so the pain can stop. I'll post the standings and results as soon as Linda emails them to me.
