    For Bunker/Olympic/Trench, etc., is there a velocity limit for 24gm.-7/8 oz. loads?

    Cartridges permitted in ISSF competitions must meet the following
    specifications:

    - Case length after firing must not exceed 70 mm;

    - Shot charge must not exceed 24.5 g;

    - Pellets must be spherical in shape;

    - Pellets must be made of lead, lead alloy or of any other
    ISSF-approved material;

    - Pellets must not exceed 2.6 mm in diameter;

    - Pellets may be plated;

    - Black powder, tracer, incendiary, or other special types of
    cartridges are prohibited; and

    - No internal changes may be made which will give an extra or
    special dispersion effect, such as the inverse loading of
    components, crossing devices, etc.

    Rules don't state a limit!

    I think American trap is the only one that has limits, but I may be mistaken...

    Joe, thought the same thing. If there was a limit it would be in the ISSF Rule Book and as you know, it isn't.

    Thanks.

    I also understand that plated shot has been disallowed. There are no velocity limit on bunker loads only charge weight and size of pellet.

    Some European shooting grounds have limits on velocity, but the ISSF does not.

    Kind of a hijack, hopefully not but forgive me if you believe it is.

    A link to results and info is posted above.

    Good Luck, Guys and Gals!!!!

    Note that the World Class Sporting shooter Anthony Matarese is making a strong bid for the U.S. Trap Team. -JW

    This is an intriguing one. I'm trying to think of what it is aimed at preventing. Chain-linked pellets?

    Avatar, not sure I know, but one of the probabilities is a spreader load by using a cross-section plastic insert sold my Ballistic Products and they do work very well. Believe you have to use factory ammo and other than Fiocchi, I don't know of any other popular spreaders. That, and possibility a Duplex Load.

    No limits on ISSF ammo. Most sold here in states is 1325 to 1365fps.

    I've been told that some European loads are over 1400 as the targets over there are hard as Champions!
