build up of plastic

    Why does wad plastic build up more in choke tube than barrel.

    What works good to take plastic build up out of the barrel any info will help

    Just My 2 cents,

    The wad you use has a lot to do with build up. Claybuster's in my Browning Ivector plus guns are real bad.

    Remington TGT-12's and Downrange XL-1's (Neon Green) have signifcantly less build up.

    YMMV

    jon, I must agree with wad choice. I had been using TGT wads until last order. I recieved claybusters as a alternate. They where out of Rem. I dont remember having this much trouble cleaning my chokes with TGT.

    I believe Downrange makes the Spolar wads - do they not.

    Spolar is made by Downrange. Their name is/was on the package.

    Here is some real serious plastic build up with Claybuster Windjammer wads. I've switched to the Downrange version and haven't had anything quite as bad.
