I have one of the same description. I bought mine from Indiana Gun club and was told it was a grade 3. The serial number under the lever has a MX in the line.
I have also looked at and on top of the lever was a engraved HG. I do know that Hi-Grade had some made up awhile back and sold them out from $1600.00 W/out cut comb
the one with comb cut at $1700.00. I believe thats right but could be wrong. Mine I bought used and was $1400 I think.

It certainly sounds like the Hi Grage I brought from Hi Grade guns in PA. The serial number will start with HG then the number. Nice gun. g. stevenson
