What is the best way to install the main hammer spring in a BT99? Custom made spring compressor made out of a set of channel locks? Got the old one out, and really don't see how to get the new one in unless I am missing the trick? l.g.

You need a tool like this to install mainsprings using a guide rod, or if you drill a 1/16" hole through the end of the guide rod 5/8" up from the end, you can compress the spring on the rod just pass the hole you drilled then secure it with a paper clip thru the hole, install and pull the paper clip out.
