Ya know ... stainless or nickel is the same on this gun. Some people will refer to it as stainless and others as nickel but it is the same gun. If others have this gun and your local still cant get it there might be a reason as to why ... it was a "Shot Show" special and possibly your dealer did not partake in the special and all the dealers who did are getting them first before he or possibly his distributor will have a chance at them.

Get one while you can or it might be to late if you decide to wait.

Our club Sec. has an account with a distributor for everything shooting related. He ordered one of the SHOT show BT99s and they accepted the order. Several months went by and still no gun. He told me last week the distributor called him and told him that Browning decided to shitecan the concept and that we wouldn't be getting one.

Joe ... it sounds like they are right and he might be wrong. Good luck in getting it. Did your local dealer quote you a price at all?

It does look like the grip on the stock is different when comparing them on the Browning site but what is interesting is the laminated stock model at Gander Mountain (non-cataloged item for Gander Mountain) which is the standard style as well.

Maybe it has something to do with it being a Monte Carlo stock instead of the standard stock which all the other models have on the Browning site.

Now I want you to know I am getting perturbed at all this ... now I am going to have to be on a quest to try and search out one of these and see one, dang you all just dang you for this. ;-)

I've had my deposit with Dawson's in Ohio for several months for a 34" model. They called me yesterday and said the 34" hasn't yet arrived but they have ONE 32" in stock

    http://www.dawsonent.com/browse.cfm/4,836.htm

If anyone wants a 32" Grey Laminate BT-99 here it is, move on it fast.

Joe- I'm pretty sure that the rib is black, just like on the SS BT-100 from a couple of years ago. The silver rib pics are promotional photos that were released by Browning. But, I got a hold of a 34" and will have it today, I'll post this afternoon with a difinitive answer.

If anyone is interested in this gun, and you find one, take it. Kim @ Dawson's said that that Browning told her that they couldn't even make a dent in the number of backorders that they have.

I was at Guns Unlimited yesterday and didn't see one there.

Joe- I got the gun and the photos are correct. The RIB IS SILVER, not painted black. The angle down to the rib is a flat silver and the actual rib is textured, I used it yesterday in the sun and didn't notice any glare or reflection (but I was wearing sun glasses).

I found the gun at Harris Sporting in Missouri. It was listed it on GunBroker.com

I put on a Precision Fit Stock, I think it matches the finish pretty well. I'll post pics soon.
