Tub, Never heard of a BT-99 comp barrel, fixed or screw in chokes. If it has invector chokes it is post '86 or invector plus chokes post '92. Is the factory ported barrel refered to as "comp"? Teach us something.

Hoosier Daddy maybe we're missing out on something!

The Bt-99 Competition came out in 1976, it had a higher rib that was dove-tailed into the barrel so it was free to move when the barrel got hot. It also had a little wider comb on the MC stock. The rib idea was something they didn't need because the barrel never could get hot enough to change the POI. I don't know how long they made them, I think just a couple of years. I have never even seen one in all the years I've been shooting. Wayne

I shoot one I bought new in 1977. If I remember correctly they were only made in 76 and 77.

I, for one, would love to see one or a picture of one. As I said, it is new to me.

Hoosier here ya go. Just found this on e-bay, they must have made them at least from 76 to 79. Enlarge the picture and you can read the description. I've owned several BT-99s and seen hundreds of them over the years. I've never looked for a dove-tailed rib on one, but I will from now on. Wayne

Ebay must have taken it down. They don't like the gun liability thing on ebay. They usually don't take gun adds. I couldn't get the link to work.
