BT99 Age

    I have a BT99 Serial No. 72D124xx. The information on the Browning website is confusing, I thought the first two numbers, in this case 72, were year of manufacture.

    That is correct, 1972 is the year of manufacture.

    I think around 1976 they changed the serial numbering system, determining the year more difficult (year codes).

    Call Browning. Give them the SN & they will give you the year o manufacture.

    Here is the Browning page for the BT 99

    It looks like the last 2 digits make the year, the front four are serial numbers.
