There has been a BT-99 Plus (89867716) on Gunbroker for quite awhile. It's opening bid is $1000, and nobody bids on it. It keeps getting relisted for another week.

With what these usually sell for, I was couldn't figure out why this never got any bids. It has been on at least a month.

It's probably because a $1000 bid will not get the bidder any chance to own this gun since it won't meet the buyer's reserve. This is a very common tactic used by sellers to get the bidding started (and get contacts from interested parties). The seller may or may not wish to disclose the reserve price until the bidding reaches that high. .....Rick

From the looks of it, it needs a trip back to Browning to get it right. I think it is overpriced considering the rebuild necessary.

Starting a gun at $1,000 and adding a reserve isn't the best approach for making a sale. I'd say the initial bid price and the actual value are much too close to make it attractive. Better idea is to start the bidding at $1,000 with no reserve and watch it go for market value.

The other approach is to post the actual price you want for the gun on your first bid with no reserve. Of course, then you're forgetting this is an auction site and not a retail store. This approach usually yields little bid interest!!

Although it's a better unit, not sure wether the Gra-Coil would help the value in this case. Usually stock items sell best.
