The letters in the serial numbers of the mythical "high shooters" were RR and RT. Were there any others?

    Thanks.

I think RP was the other one.

No myth, Mike. Yes those are the correct for the 99's. All you have to do is compare a RR/RT next to another and you'll see.

A few BT-100 high shooters were made as well. No letters on these, you just have to look at the ribs. Browning offered 3 different ribs for the 100.

Is "RN" also a high shooter?

I believe that the "RN" preceeded the high shooters. The High POI ribs were only installed a couple of years.

I donated a real nice high shooter two barrel set to a thief several years back. I imagine it went to Mexico along with the rest of my guns he stole. Hap

How do you tell? Is it the rib measurement? Stock height?
Can you put a "RR" barrel on another receiver and get the same thing?

    Hap,

According to Dick Durbin, that guy is likely a "doctor or scientist" by now. Used the gun money to put himself through school.

stokinpls, no, he's not exactly either of those these days. Close though, he's a small time thieving drug dealer yet today, I found out who the culprit was and informed the law. I did get back two of my guns from the law watching some of his trades to others though. One I got back was my model 12 I bought as a youngster and started my registered shooting with years ago. That one, is priceless. Hap

No, he moved from the area right after I thumped his best buddy. I sent him a stern message via that meeting though, guess he liked his knees too much to stick around too close. Hap
