I recently was given a BT-99 with an extractor. I've seen others with an ejector. Any way of modifying mine to eject? Is it possible to buy another barrel with an ejector to fit my receiver?

    Thanks in advance,

    Phil V.

If it was made in 1994 or prior it will either extract or eject depending on which spring is in the forend.

Not hard to do. There's a great link on www.shotgunworld.com in the "Browning Lovers" forum that explains it in detail. However they have been having server problems so its kinda hit and miss.
Its basically accomplished by removing the forearm...remove the forearm iron from the wood....and replace the springs with weaker ones. I have had sucess using a standard 1911 style handgun firing pin spring. Its a pretty simple change. Good luck.

    mikkeeh,

Uhhh, I think he wants to make his gun eject. What you gave him instructions for is converting one that ejects to extract only.

Thanks, guys for the info, Grntitan is correct that I want to go upstream from extractor to ejector. Nevertheless, I appreciate Skip's email and mikkeeh's willingness to even answer. Also, belated thanks to you, Grntitan, for those Grand pics awhile back.

So would a stronger spring do the trick ?

The later BT99 is (I believe) extract only...identified by the lack of ejector springs in the forearm. I have owned both types of BTs and although the eject only should be simpler I have only had forearm trouble with the late BT(cracks in the wood and breaking screws.)
