Have inherited a 20 ga long tang Browning O/U but cannot identify model . The
four digit serial number is prefixed by "P23RN xxxx which indicates 1979 mfg date but the P23 remains unidentifiable . The O/U has beautiful wood, straight stocked with inlayed game birds on either side of the receiver . The forearm and receiver iron are with engraved with oakleaves. Coverage is about 50%; very well done and unsigned . I think that it is a Pigeon or Pointer grade and hope that someone can advise further as to Model . Many thanks ...

A Grade VI Citori has gold pheasants on the left side of the receiver, and ducks on the right, with highly figured wood. I think a 1979 Superposed would have come from the custom shop. What length of barrels, and what chokes? Was it made in Belgium or Japan?

    Pictures?
