Browning BT99 info needed

    I bought a older BT99 this weekend # 03538RP199. Would someone know the year
    it was made. It also has three holes around the firing pin and I to know
    the purpose of these holes. Thanks alot for any info on this gun.

    It looks like a 1978 to me. R is for 7 and P is for 8.

    Your gun was made in 1978. The 3 holes are for a special tool made to remove the firing pin bushing. Wayne

    If I guess what rebal was trying to say I wasn't suppose to give the full
    serial #. If that is so , why not?

    Oh, OK. I understand. Jonese, just for information, the BT's with the serial number containing RP and RR have a reputation for being very high shooters. I had one and had to hold a foot under the bird to even touch it.
