New to entering a thread but hear goes.

I am getting back into trapshooting after nearly a 30 year hiatus.

I recently scored (bought)a Browning BT 99 Grade 6 with 34" barrel (I did'nt know the grades went that high). The gun looks to be in great shape but has definitely been a shooter with very mild blueing wear. Stock has a recoil reduction system installed (Gra Coil?). I am looking for someone to refurbish this gun to like new. Not looking for cheapest service but the best (or near best). Can anyone help with a recommendation?

I remember a thread in which a few of the nicest Brownings were displayed. Not for sale but to share with fellow trapshooters. Can anyone steer me to that thread?

I was looking for a Perazzi when I came upon this Browning. What would the value of this gun be and if I wanted to trade for a Perazzi (single or combo) what could I expect (trading up, down, or sidewase)?

I would have included pictures but the gun is still in transit. I will post pics when I receive it in a few days.

I have enjoyed reading this site more than a little. Good shooting to all.
    Marc

Gary, I'll take that as a compliment although someone will probably pop in with a different opinion (lol). Lots of past experience shooting, buying, and selling. Just not in the last 30 years. I bought my first BT 99 new for about $400, my first Perazzi TM1 for $800 including a case of shells.

aaH FOR THE GOOD OLD DAYS.

    Marc

Sorry about the duplicate thread heading below. In trying to respond to an entry I created a separate thread that I seem to be unable to delete.
    Thanks, Marc

Is the BT a pigeon grade or is that different than a grade 6? I have a TMX I may be willing to cut some deal with you. I just had the thing rebuilt and it is tight as new. Bulge.

Bulge, I'm not sure about the Pigeon Grade. My grade 6 has very deep engraving with gold inlays on each side. TMX trade could be interesting. You can contact mu at mbunk@comcast.net

    Thanks, Marc

With the Gra-coil, it could be a BT-99 Golden Clays

I could not find a grade 6 in the blue book as well. Maybe its one of Leo's guns or another run made for someone else, or a special shoot, or custom shop.
Luvtrapguns when you get your gun from the dealer check to see if it has a seperate number on top of the opening lever in gold highlights??? It should be only 1-3 numbers long.
As far as haveing it repaired a also say Art's as well. Good Luck with your new gun and Break-em all. Jeff
