I am looking at an older BT99 with choke marked as ** also a Citori marked as * & *+. What would the choke sizes be on these two guns. Thanks in advance

For the BT-99, * is full, *- is IM, and ** is mod. Not sure about the citori but Im guessing * is full and *+ is extra full.

Browning fixed chokes are much tighter than their choke tubes. I had a Browning BT-99 2 barrel set and the fixed choke Full * measured .038 constriction and the Modified Choke ** measured .028 constriction. I also had a Citori with Invector chokes and Improved Modified measured only .020 constriction.

Remember that Browning says that their chokes are marked for performance not the standard dimensions. ie mod is not necessarily .020 constrition but it gives the 60% pattern.
