The ejector for the lower barrel on my MX-8 broke today. The spring plunger also went flyin' & was lost. Where is the best source for these parts & does the ejector need to be fitted to the gun. The gun is a 1973 vintage. I live in central OR. Thanks in advance, John

I've seen mostly from the '70s vintage guns, guess the heat treatment was different back then.

Try GiacomoSporting.com, ask for Down or Dan, they might have it in stock.

Yes, most likely they'll need fitting.

In the future, cut two coils off from the ejector springs, this should never happen again.

Doug or Dan at Giacomo's.. Yes.. they need fitting.. AND timing..
Heat treating is not the problem.. metal gets work hardened.. and as Steve said.. clip a few coils..and ejectors will last alot longer..

Ajex, if Whiz has them, his price will be better than Giacomo.

Those plungers fly quite a ways. When I broke my ejector, many moons ago, it flew around 20 yards and landed at the feet of a buddy of mine who happened to be a welder by trade. He gave me back my plunger and took the broken extractor home and heliarc welded it back together. I bought a new part in the white but never needed it.

That plunger could have hurt if someone was close enugh!

I had the same thing happen to my wife's MX-8 top single . Called Giacomo and he said he had a gun there in the shop he could duplicate the ejector and the only thing I might need to do is time it and he could walk me through that. He shipped it and 2 days later I installed it and got real lucky and didn't have to time it.

Whiz or Dan @ Giacomo's either way it's a good solution.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the input guys. Talked to Whiz White this morning & he is sending me the parts I need. Gene, was that Tommy Towe that welded yours back together? John
