Forgive my ignorance, but after reading some threads, I get the impression that a breach load gun can be fitted with multiple guage barrels. Is this true? For instance, I have a Beretta 682 12 ga. Can a barrel be gotten to fit in 20 ga. using the same foreend?

In many instnaces, depending on manufacturer, you can purchase extra barrels in 20, 28 and 410 gauage that can be fitted to your receiver and forend. The weight may be different however. You can also purchase "tubes" from briley or kolar that fit inside the barrel that can shoot the subgauges. This adds weight to your gun.
